The Training Design and Methods of Instruction for Law Enforcement Survival Skills Course fills a critical vacuum in law enforcement training by incorporating the latest science of how we learn.
This learner-centered course will leverage an adult learning, problem-based approach with participants expected to do 20+ hours of pre-class reading/viewing and assignments in addition to the 40-hours of in-class instruction. Successful completion of this course requires individuals to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the material and its application in various contexts.
Participants who successfully finish the course will have a broad understanding of identifying critical training needs along with building and instructing an evidence-based training program to address the essential skills required by law enforcement officers to protect themselves and the public during critical incidents.
The course completion requires the following to earn certificate of completion.
Seminole County Sheriff’s Office Professional Development Center
