Participants will gain an understanding of the current technology behind digital video and body-worn cameras and how they can be an integral component for investigations, accountability, and transparency in law enforcement. A detailed review of how an agency can assess its need for body-worn cameras will be covered, along with best practices for implementation and operational use.
A significant emphasis will be placed on what a successful body-worn camera program looks like with proper implementation of both the technology and staffing, agency policies, and the process for being transparent to the community and agency officers when video is released.

Yes. An online test is made available to participants at the conclusion of the course. Attendees need to score ≥ 75% to receive a certificate of completion.
Attendees are strongly encouraged to fully participate in classroom discussions, ask questions and to ensure all of their questions from the pre-test are fully answered before they take the final exam.
Due to limited seating, we request that you cancel at least 30 days before a scheduled class start date. This gives us the opportunity to find a replacement for your seat.
Cancellations made 30 days or more in advance of the course start date are eligible to receive a full tuition credit that can be applied toward any future Force Science Institute training event or 100% refund, less a $30 processing fee.
Cancellations made less than 30 days in advance are not eligible for a refund. You will have the option to transfer your registration to another person who can attend the course or receive a full tuition credit for future use.
No refunds or credits will be given for no shows.
