Nicole Florisi, M.S., Sergeant (Ret.)

Biography

Nicole Florisi is currently the Executive Director for the Verde Valley Sanctuary; a shelter dedicated to providing services for survivors of sex trafficking, sexual violence, and domestic violence. She is a former full-time police sergeant with a demonstrated history of working in both law enforcement and behavioral health. Nicole served on the Verde Valley Regional SWAT team as their lead negotiator for 11 years. Her background is in hostage and crisis negotiation, de-escalation tactics, child abduction response, forensic interviewing, and forensic phlebotomy. She has additional background a DRE Instructor, DITEP Instructor, and SFST Instructor.  She is an IADLEST Nationally Certified Instructor as well.

Nicole has a Master of Science Professional Counseling with her post-master work in trauma counseling and human factors psychology. She has a Bachelor of Science in Public Safety Administration and Emergency Management. Her work as a therapist has an emphasis in crisis and trauma with an added focus in training other therapists on working with the first responder community.
